Homemade Macaroni Cheese With Bacon & Breadcrumbs

Ingredients at the ready; pasta, butter, cornflour, milk, cheese, bacon and dried out bread.

Pasta boiling away with cut up bacon through. Grated cheese and breadcrumbs.

Pasta and bacon drained. Production of cheese sauce; melt butter, add cornflour to make paste, add milk and cheese.

Pasta, bacon and sauce mixed and put in an oven proof dish. Topped with a mixture of breadcrumbs and cheese.

The end result after 20 mins in the oven at 220.

In order to have the dining chairs i wanted on a budget, i purchased chairs from a local charity shop for £15 for the pair. I then bought a large cushion from TK Maxx which was covered in a fabric i liked. The chairs were cleaned, stripped back and painted, the cushion dismantled, and the fabric used to cover two smaller cushions in order to make the seats. Over all cost, £25.

It started with a wooden delivery pallet i enquired from Uni. After a good sanding with the belt sander and by hand, i white washed it with a white emulsion and wire wool. I attached caster wheels to the base and had my local glazier cut a piece of glass for the top. Voila!

I first have to apologise for my blogging absence. I have recently started University and moved house, so things have been a tad hectic, also Internet was only installed this week. Anyway I'm back and ready to blog!

So as previously blogged (http://fashionbookmark.blogspot.com/2010/11/top-of-wishlist.html), i was in love with the Jordan Askill heart ring after seeing it on Christine Centerena on the Jak & Jil blog last summer, so i treated myself! It was sold out in the UK so i sourced it from Australia, a little store called Landsend in Sydney to be precise. I co-ordinated the sale with staff through e-mail and they could not of been more helpful, a great retail experience. I paid via Paypal and received the ring in quick smart time. I heart my heart ring ♥

Fish Pedicure

There is nothing better at the end of a hard days shopping, than some much needed TLC for your feet. So on that note my friend and i visited the much publicised Aqua Sheko "fish therapy concept spa" on Holland Street, London (just off High Street Kensington)

On arrival you are taken over to foot sink, there the staff clean and prep your feet for the fish. You are then led over to your tank. At first the sensation is weird and a little freaky! But once the fish's excitement dies down you can relax and enjoy the tickling sensation as the small fish nibble your dead skin on your feet and ankles.

As we had chosen the deluxe package we had 30mins in the tank then a 15min intense foot massage with oils. The whole experience was wonderful and my feet felt baby skin soft!

Delayed reaction as the show was in Milan on Sep 27th, but i had to comment on Dsquared2's Tom boy, school girl, geek chic look. A style i am personally loving right now.

Only The Best From Beckham

Well Victoria Beckham did not disappoint with her fifth collection at New York Fashion Week.

Choosing to present in New York rather than London (as it is closer to home now she lives in America!), Mrs B showcased the collection of 26 dresses to a small gathering in a mansion off fifth avenue, consisting of a few select editors, retailers and stylists.

The Spring Summer 2011 collection has been very well received by fashion critics, perhaps due to the fact she banned the use of size 0 models, making the dresses more representative of the "normal" women's form.

The dresses speak for themselves, a combination of spring like neutrals and bursts of summer brights. The accessories were minimal, not to take away from the dress itself, although there was the introduction of bags. The looks were finished off with Brian Atwood shoes, Victoria's personal favourite.

I'm partial to a well made blouse and had a much loved one from Miss Selfridge that ticked all the boxes. Nude, three quarter length sleeves, silk and baggy. Hung perfectly, but disaster struck at T in the Park when my perfect blouse got ruined. The bin it was. I have since been looking for a replacement and today came across the new range from Yuki. All the blouses are one size and there are a few different styles to choose from, but i opted for the "Beige Preppy Unbalanced Shirt" £59.00

When the idea of starting a blog first came to me, i was excited about being able to share my outfit choices with you all and having my outfits on record. But it has been so much harder than i anticipated. As I'm currently living alone i find it hard to have my photos taken. No one seems to be available when required. Just a little DIY

I spent a long time looking for the perfect bedside table when i was recently redecorating my master bedroom. It had to be the right size, not too big but not too small. With a drawer but not completely made up of drawers. No one (as usual!) seemed to make what i was looking for. I get an image in my head and that is what i NEED to find! So when all else fails, do it yourself. This cabinet came as a pair, £5 each from a local charity shop. Bargain! I took them home and spent a good two hours sanding them right back (i did have before photos, but someones deleted them by mistake - me!) I then painted them all over with Laura Ashley Charcoal and added the same yellow that had been used in the room. I finished them off with a white gloss stripe (for change of texture) and a glass top for protection. The glass knob is also Laura Ashley (the most expensive part!)

Well i apologise for my absence. I have been at The T in the Park festival, back 1 day then in Spain on holiday. It was great having some time out, but back to reality now and playing catch up with my posts. Please bear with me!

Much like my taste in fashion, my interior preferences very much depend on my mood. Sometimes i can find a bleak, ultra contemporary interior appealing, other times I'm overwhelmed by busy, patterned, old English inspired interiors. The above property belongs to no other than Rachel Stevens. She is currently trying to sell the 2 bed apartment for a cool £1.1 million!

I'm loving the fact lounge wear will be continuing into the next season, from above I’m loving the grey skinny joggers with leather patch insert. The sheer nude dress is truly beautiful and the chunky knitwear looks interesting as well as cozy! But top of my shopping list for the Autumn, a shearling aviator jacket.

Prada introduced us to there range of clear vinyl bags in Milan, September 2009 as part of the S/S 2010 collection. At the time i was not that impressed but seeing this shot by Tommy Ton of someone with a clutch version outside the Milan menswear shows this week, i've changed my mind. I like!

Festivals are as much about fashion now-a-days as they are about the music. I thought Rockness last weekend would of been the perfect opportunity to show off some style, but sadly weather was not permitting! Unlike Kate, who got it spot on again at the Isle of Wight festival (she had the weather, not fair!) The above poncho was the best 50p i've ever spent! I always have T in the Park to redeem myself.

The above images are from Donna Karan's Resort Collection 2011, displayed in a catwalk presentation on Friday 04th June in New York. Although there appeared to be a limited palette of colour consisting of black, white, navy and silver mainly, the collection expressed elegant silhouettes and Donna's signature satin jersey goddess dresses (as seen on Kara Tointon in asymmetrical form at the Bafta TV awards Sunday 06th June). Happy 25th Anniversery Donna!

Kate Moss Playsuit

So as i had informed you in an earlier post, i purchased the above playsuit the minute it went on sale May 21st, after seeing Kate wearing it to the launch of the new Topshop Knightsbridge store the night before. I was puzzled for a while trawling the Topshop site as i could not find the playsuit with buttons down the front. That was because Kate being the creative fashion genius that she is, had worn the garment back to front. I took this idea and ran with it, wearing it to a party this past weekend. What do you think?

Above are some of the delights on show at YSL's cruise collection (a fashion house's pre-season line of ready-to-wear clothing in addition to there twice-yearly seasonal collections), held at the French consulate in New York yesterday. Stefano Pilati can silence any critics with this latest collection, it's beautiful. I particularly love the little bra top teamed with the extra wide trousers. There is an introduction of some great colours also.

Loose fitting, 100% silk and breast pockets, but at $178 (approx £121) it's a little out of my league.
